Inspections by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (BATFE) can be a source of mystery, confusion, and annoyance for employees. However, as regular compliance inspections are required for all pawnbrokers with a Type 2 Federal Firearms License (FFL), and criminal inspections may occur, it is important that pawnbrokers are aware of their rights and responsibilities during these times.
This course explains the purpose of a BATFE inspection, documents what happens during an inspection, and clarifies recommended procedures for follow-up after the inspection is complete. The course also details a pawnbroker's responsibilities when a Special Agent conducts a criminal inspection.
This course is appropriate for all employees at a pawnbroker shop.
